About Lisa
Lisa layers paint to capture light and the landscapes of the American West, creating a graphic and vibrant world. Her painting “The Sun Sets on the Slope of the Horse Heaven Hills” was exhibited in the American Embassy in Yemen, while “Mountains at Dusk” is in the Washington State Governor’s Mansion. She was the Artist in Residence at Petrified Forest National Park in 2015 and at Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument in 2017. Based on Samish Island, she aims to convey atmosphere and memories through her landscapes. In northwest Washington, she captures clear light and winter shadows, while in eastern Washington, she reflects the stark beauty of eroded land bathed in luminous light, shaped by her childhood experiences. Her goal is to express the power of land and light rather than just document a place.
